Jennie (DiDonno) Muzyk, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2023, just shy of her 97th birthday. She is now reunited with her late husband, Alexander, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2014.
Born and raised in New Britain, Jennie was one of five children to the late Felix and Mary (Sarra) DiDonno. A graduate of New Britain High School, she and Alexander raised their three children in Plainville. Jennie worked for the State of Connecticut, retiring after many years of dedicated employment. Remembered for her love for dancing, Jennie was proud of her Italian heritage and cooked many specialties, with her famous pizzelles being a favorite that everyone looked forward to. She loved her family dearly, and being surrounded by them often brought her the greatest amount of joy.
She will be missed by her children, Carolyn Ferrari and her husband Michael of Windsor, Paul Muzyk and his wife Cindy of Bluffton, SC and Sharon Scricca and her husband Tom of Plainville; along with her two beloved grandchildren, Justin Camerato and his wife Ashley of New Britain and Kyle Camerato and his fiancé Jesse of Bristol and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Marie King and her brothers Vito, Andrew and Phil DiDonno.
Jennie’s family extends their gratitude to the staff at the Summit of Plantsville, who became a second family to her during her five year residency.
In lieu of flowers, Jennie may be remembered with contributions to a charity that is meaningful to the donor.
Family and friends may gather on Thursday July 20, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St Plainville. A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m., followed by committal at St. Joseph Cemetery Plainville. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
