Javan Cory DelValle

Javan Cory DelValle passed away on Thursday February 18, 2021. He was the son of Kim M. Hawk, Rafael DelValle and Michael Pierce, Sr., and was the proud father of Jillian Floyd. Javan Cory was born in Bristol Connecticut and attended Bristol schools until he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. In North Carolina, he played high school football leading his team to several wins and earning his place as a top athlete. Javan’s energy and drive was always evident as he would do flips, all day long fearlessly. After graduating from Garinger High School, Javan returned to Connecticut to be closer to family. He had a special relationship with his grandparents.

 Javan was a gifted vocalist. His rich tenor, tenderness was felt whenever he sang. Singing came easy and he seemed most at peace when he sang with his family. Javan was a member of Redeemer’s A.M.E. Zion Church and sang in the children’s, Jubilee and Mass Choirs.  Javan also loved to cook, sing, and dance and you could find him doing them all at the same time.

 Javan’s heart was bigger than life. He had an enormous capacity to love and to make everyone around him feel loved. Javan was known for his playful spirit, his hardy laugh, and his infectious smile.

Javan is survived by his beautiful daughter, Jillian Floyd; his loving mother, Kim M. Hawk; his loving fathers, Rafael (Susan) DelValle and Michael (Greta) Pierce, Sr.; his brothers, Michael Pierce, Jr., Eric Pierce, Matthew Pierce, and Marcello J. DelValle; his sisters, Mia Jarett, Aleyah Seabrook; a special cousin, Eric Alvarez, Jr.; his aunts, Lisa Hawk and Laura Galindo; uncle Carlos DelValle and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his adoring grandparents; Cynthia Hawk, Rafael Jr. and Providencia DelValle.

 Javan Cory’s love light will be missed by all that knew him.

A memorial service will be held, Monday March 8, 2021 at Grace C.M.E. Church at Trinity on Main, 69 Main St New Britain with a walk-through visitation from 10-11 and Funeral Service at 11:00. COVID safety measures will be enforced and Funeral Service will be limited to family and close friends.  A livestream will be presented by the family through the following
