James Consalvo, 91 of Plainville, peacefully departed this world surrounded by his family on January 7, 2025. Jimmy, as he was known to many, is now reunited with his beloved wife of 40 years, Annina “Anna” (Lucente) Consalvo, who predeceased him in 2006.
Born on February 13, 1933, Jimmy spent his formative years in New Haven and Southington before settling in Plainville in 1965 shortly after his marriage to Anna. Together, they raised three wonderful sons and reveled in the joy of watching their family flourish across two more generations.
Known for his incredible work ethic, Jimmy dedicated nearly 30 years to Pratt & Whitney, embodying the value of hard work and commitment. His simple yet profound approach to life was reflected in his love for family and his desire for staying active. Frequently spotted riding his three-wheel bicycle around the streets and parks of Plainville, he believed that keeping fit was the key to longevity. He was a familiar face at the Plainville Senior Center, where he cultivated many friendships that became a second family, enriching his life with laughter and camaraderie. Proud of his Italian heritage, he was a devoted communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church, where he treasured not only his faith but also the community that surrounded him. Jimmy’s sense of humor and infectious optimism brightened the lives of everyone around him and he will be fondly remembered with gratitude for the generous life he lived and the love he shared.
Jimmy leaves his sons, Peter Consalvo and his wife Vinci, Ron Consalvo, and John Consalvo and his wife Lori; his pride and joy, his grandchildren Leah Berube and her fiancé Antonio Whitt, Victoria Consalvo and her fiancé Paul Leone, Andrew, Matthew, Annina, and Alyssa Consalvo; and his great-grandchildren, Mila and Julian Whitt.
In lieu of flowers, Jimmy may be remembered with contributions to the Plainville Senior Center Dial-A-Ride, 200 East St. Plainville, CT 06062.
Funeral services in celebration of Jimmy’s life will be on Monday at 9 a.m. from Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Committal will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery Southington. Family and friends may gather on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
