Iva (Boccarrosa) Scardacchi

Iva (Boccarrosa) Scardacchi, 94, of Plainville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. She is now reunited with her loving husband of 70 years, Astolfo Scardacchi, who predeceased her in 2023.
Iva was born on April 8, 1931, in Fossombrone, Italy daughter to the late Giuseppe and Maria Boccarrosa. Iva was a remarkable woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her flowers, cultivating beautiful blooms. Iva had a passion for cooking, and it was evident in every meal she prepared. A true testament to her Italian heritage, she was an exceptional pasta maker. She delighted in gathering loved ones around her table, often sharing homemade meals with family and friends. In addition, she was a talented seamstress. Above all, Iva lived a life dedicated to love, family, and creating a warm home for her loved ones. She will be missed deeply.
Iva is survived by her devoted son, Ronald Scardacchi, of Plainville, her brothers, Mario Boccarrosa and Nerio Boccarrosa, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved neighbors, Sharon and Steve LeSuer and Mary Ellen and Richard Yesek. She was predeceased by her brother, Flavio Boccarrosa.

Honoring her family’s wishes, her life will be celebrated privately. She will be placed to rest at the Chapel Mausoleum at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
