Ismael Maldonado, Jr., 71 of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 18, 2025 at John Dempsey Medical Center, following a short illness.
“Mel” as he was affectionately known, was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and is now reunited with his mother, Anna Maria, for whom he had an intense love and spoke of often.
Mel held a longtime successful career as a machinist, and enjoyed each day of his retirement to the fullest. Being from Brooklyn, he was an avid fan of the NY Jets and NY Mets.
He leaves his loving partner of 22 years, Linda Carney, who will cherish their memories together.
Until we meet again, God grant him eternal rest.
