Gwendolyn Celeste (Laird) Wilson

Gwendolyn Celeste (Laird) Wilson, 87, of Bristol passed away on December 30, 2021 in the comfort of home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. She is now at peace and reunited with her late husband, Samuel C. Wilson Sr.
Gwendolyn was born on September 23, 1934 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont daughter of the late Jewett Jacob and Cora Carolyn (Clark) Laird. Earlier in life, Gwendolyn worked at Rogers Orchards, but her true calling was being a mother and grandmother. She loved spending time being surrounded by her family, listening to everyone talk and laugh. Family dinners and Holidays brought her much joy as it brought everyone together to share in good laughs and conversation. Gwendolyn was a sweet, gentle natured woman and all that knew her loved her. She will be missed tremendously as she holds a special place in her loved one’s hearts.
Gwendolyn is survived by her daughter, Theresa Price, of Plainville, her son, Samuel C. Wilson Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Colchester, her daughter Judy Wilson, of Bristol, her daughter Samantha Hill, of Bristol, her daughter, Laurie Wilson, of Bristol, her son, Jewett Wilson and his wife, Karen, of Southington, her son, William Wilson and his wife, Lisa, of Burlington and her daughter, Kathy Hebert and her husband, Mort, of Plainville. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service in celebration of Gwendolyn’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 1 PM at Saint Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St., Plainville extends their gratitude to the Wilson family for their trust.
