Gladys M. (Blackston) Pascus, 96, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain following a brief illness.

Born on August 24, 1927, on a farm in Plainville, daughter to the late Frank Michael and Marie (Kacer) Blackston, Gladys spent her whole life in Plainville, where she made a lasting impact on all who knew her. Gladys was a graduate of Plainville High School Class of 1945 and her love for her small town of Plainville remained in her heart through the years.

Gladys was a woman of many talents and passions. From her 20 years of dedication to the family business, Warren's Music Center in New Britain, to her professional singing career performing as "Sharon Day," she shared her love of music and community with those around her. Her voice brought joy and comfort to many as she traveled throughout Connecticut performing with various bands and musicians.

Later in life, Gladys devoted over 30 years to working at Corky's Auto, her son's business, showcasing her strong work ethic and commitment to her family. Her involvement in the Plainville Senior Center and the Plainville Historical Society highlighted her love for her community and her desire to connect with others. A devout Catholic and active member of the Church of Saint Patrick, Gladys found solace and strength in her faith. Her kindness, generosity, and warm spirit were felt by all who crossed her path.

Throughout her life, she embraced the beauty of nature, spending countless hours tending to her beloved flower beds and creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. Her desire for orderliness and cleanliness was evident in every aspect of her life, creating an environment that radiated peace and serenity.

Gladys lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a strong sense of independence. A woman who cherished her family and valued the importance of staying active, Gladys leaves behind a legacy of strength and perseverance. She will always be remembered for her loving and caring nature, which touched the lives of all who knew her. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her positive impact on those around her was immeasurable.
