Ginger (Meeker) Bastille, 59 of Plainville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Rene “Rocky” Bastille, Jr., who predeceased her last August.
Born in New Britain on November 7, 1962, she was one of four children to the late Frederick and Honorah (Broderson) Meeker. Raised and educated in Berlin, Ginger was a 1981 graduate of Berlin High School. She and Rocky raised their two children in Plainville, where they shared 36 years of love and rock n’ roll. The office manager at Denny’s Transmission in Bristol, she lived simply, loved deeply and will be remembered fondly for her no-nonsense ways and love for her family.
She is survived by her children, Ryan and his wife Bethany and Rachel Heslin and her husband, Thomas all of Plainville and was the adored “Grandma Ginger” to Raelynn and Ryan Bastille, Jr. and Roen and Rex Heslin. She also leaves her brothers, Nicholas Meeker (Lisa Liegeot) and Gil (Bri) Meeker and her sister, Michelle (Ernie) Zick, along with many nieces and nephews.
