Giannina (Forcella) Faiazza passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband, Pasquale, in 1977. Ginny, as she was affectionately known, embodied the virtues of strength, faith, and selflessness throughout her 93 years.
Born in Montepagano, Italy on April 7, 1931, Giannina arrived in the United States aboard the Andrea Doria in 1954, along with her younger brother Ermanno, seeking a better life. Her husband arrived soon after his papers were in order. Together Giannina and Pasquale built a life together based on hard work, perseverance and enduring love. Any holiday, festive occasion, or Sunday dinner that brought family and friends together brought true happiness to her. She faced each challenge with resilience and a smile, embodying the perfect blend of inner beauty and elegance. Known for always dressing to impress, Ginny never lost the flair that made her strikingly beautiful inside and out. The matriarch of her family, she will be missed dearly and forever remembered for the life she lived and love she gave.
Ginny leaves behind her loving daughter Rosaria MacFarlane and her husband Rob; son Tony Faiazza and his wife Patty; and son Dino Faiazza and his wife Cathy; her grandchildren, Michael MacFarlane and Emanuela, Gina and Devin Faiazza; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her brothers, Michael, Tomasso and Ermanno, and her sister, Grazia Ettorre.
In lieu of flowers, Giannina’s deep faith may be remembered with contributions to her church, Our Lady of Mercy, 19 S. Canal St, Plainville, CT 06062.
