Geza J. (Jerry) Czako, Jr., 67, of Plainville, left us too soon on Saturday, May 8, 2021. He was the devoted husband of Florence (Ciccio) Czako, with whom he celebrated 47 years of marriage in April.
Born in New Britain on February 1, 1954, he was one of five children to the late Geza and Jean (Harriander) Czako, Sr. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Plainville, where he and his childhood sweetheart Florence, stayed to raise their two children around whom he centered his life, (taking every chance he could to brag about them!) and proudly embraced the role of “Papa” to his two adored grandsons. An auto body specialist, Jerry had a lifelong passion for cars, sharing his enthusiasm with his son by his side as they built, repaired, and attended car shows throughout the country. He retired 13 years ago after providing his expertise to various auto shops and dealers for more than 40 years. Remembered for his selflessness and positive outlook, Jerry radiated kindness and optimism to all who were blessed to have known him. He left this world a better place and will be missed beyond words, leaving many memories of love and laughter.
In addition to his wife, Florence, he leaves his children, Geza (Jerry) Czako, III and his wife, Sharon and Heather Smedick, her husband Nick and Jerry’s pride and joy, their sons, Nicholas (Nino) and Joseph (Joey) Smedick; and his mother-in-law and partner in crime with whom he shared a special bond, Lena Ciccio. He was predeceased by his brother, David, and is survived by his sister, Kathy Raymond, his brothers, Steven and John and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his four-legged buddies, his grand-dogs Teddy and Mako.
In lieu of flowers, Jerry may be remembered with contributions to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org
Honoring the wishes of the family, Jerry’s life will be celebrated with private funeral services. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home extends their gratitude to the Czako family for their trust. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
