Gerard "Bert" Chamberland Obituary

Gerard “Bert” Chamberland, of Aurora Colorado, formerly of New Britain, passed away peacefully with his son by his side on January 6, 2021, just shy of his 75th birthday.

Born on March 7, 1946 in St Agatha Maine, he was one of nine children to the late Rosaire & Aurella (Ouelette) Chamberland.

Bert served in the Army and was honorably discharged after serving in Vietnam. He worked in the construction industry most of his life. He lived a simple life, liked to fish and play cards. He enjoyed bowling in a league with his (then) wife Aletta. Construction eventually led him to move to Colorado in the 90’s where his son Darren followed shortly after and they started their own Father & Son Remolding Company.

Remembered for his hard work ethics and quiet, simplistic lifestyle, his friends and family will remember how big his heart was and how he would do anything for others.

He is survived by his son, Darren Chamberland and his wife Chelsea of Parker, Colorado and his grandsons Brody & Colton who loved their Pepe dearly. He is also survived by his daughter, Monique and her husband Marc Rinheart, of Southington, Connecticut and his grandsons Brayden & Ethan.

Bert is also survived by his sister Gail of Florida, brothers Bob of Florida, Maurice & wife Barbara of Connecticut & Emile and wife Carol of Florida.

He was pre-deceased by his sisters Claudette & Joann and his brothers Rowdy & Norman.

Bert will be laid to rest at Fort Logan Cemetery in Colorado. A service with military honors is planned for the summer at the family’s convenience.  For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
