Francis Joseph Wojcik, 83, of Plainville, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Countryside Manor, following a brief illness.
Born in Meriden on November 28, 1938, he was one of five children to the late Henry and Stella (Jacob) Wojcik. Frank proudly served his country for four years in the US Air Force, stationed in Morón de la Frontera, Spain. He was honorably discharged in 1963, and went on to serve in the Air National Guard for five years. Frank was a cowboy at heart, who worked on cattle drives and enjoyed attending rodeos. In addition to riding his horse, “Rusty”, he enjoyed watching old western TV shows and movies, or, as he would say, watching “shoot ‘em ups”. He rarely missed the annual Berlin and Hebron Fairs, and, a proud grandfather, he relished in spending time with his grandkids.
Frank is survived by his children, Michael of Plainville, Carmen and her husband, Tom of Berlin and David of Plainville; his grandchildren, Bryan, Daniel, Andrew, Jasmine, and Nicholas, all of Plainville; his brother, Joey of Meriden and brother-in-law Tom of S.C.; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, Henry and Edward, his sister Maryann and his wife, Judy.
Honoring Frank’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life with private funeral services. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home extends their gratitude to the Wojcik family for their trust. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
