Francis Andros Obituary

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Francis R. Andros, of Plainville, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Monday, November 14, 2022.

Francis was born in New Britain on August 12, 1948 to the late Lea and Joseph Andros. He grew up in Berlin graduating from BHS in 1966. Shortly after he was drafted into the US Army where he served two years with an honorable discharge. He then worked for UPS, retiring after 36 years of loyal service. A faithful communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church for 47 years, his Catholic faith was a big part of his life never forgetting to say his daily rosary.

A constant joy and entertainer to his six granddaughters, he could be found painting their nails or telling them his endless corny jokes. He loved making people laugh and was the happiest around all the children he came in contact with.

Francis is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Francine, his two sons, John and his wife, Mandy, and their four daughters, Emma, Bridget, Torie, and Audrey, and James and his wife, Stephanie, and their two daughters, Rae and Madison. He also leaves his six sisters, Marie-Louise Morin, Aline Raphaels and her husband, Irving, Annette Akers, Claire Lemanski and her husband, Kenny, and Lea-Anne Richard and her husband, Vinny, his two brothers, Joseph C. Andros and his wife, Janice, and Patrick Andros, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, Jude.

Fran’s family especially wants to thank the Franciscan Hospice team in Meriden for their wonderful care of Fran during his final weeks.
