Frances (Berry) Rose, 82 of Plainville, sadly left her family, friends and her community on Thursday November 9, 2023, surrounded by her adored family.
Born in Milford on July 29, 1941, Fran was one of four children to the late Arthur and Emma (Ross) Berry. Educated in Milford, she received college degrees from Tunxis Community College and Central Connecticut State University.
Fran lived a life of love for her family and of selflessly giving to others through her career path and volunteerism. She worked for the Department of Developmental Services and Central CT Regional Center as a dedicated case worker, as an Industrial Engineer for Fafnir Bearing and Pyramid Technology, and was known to many as the proprietor of Marion’s prior to her retirement. A member of the Board of Directors for PARC, her many other community affiliations included Constructive Workshop, Visiting Nurses, the United Way and Nutmeg T.V. An active member and familiar face at the Congregational Church of Plainville, Fran served and volunteered on various committees. She opened and shared her home for many years with women of varying exceptionalities, another testament to her selflessness. These women became members of her family, with whom she shared countless holidays and special occasions. She had a love for traveling, visiting Europe on several occasions, with her most cherished trips being to Canada and to celebrate her Scottish heritage in Scotland. Above all, her family was the center of her life, all who will miss her beyond measure and are grateful for the many precious memories she created.
She is survived by her son, Michael Rose (Marianne) of Plainville; her daughter Sandra Ives (Kenneth) of Farmington, her grandchildren Melissa Kiley (John) of Southington, Bethany Bastille (Ryan) of Plainville, Hannah Reisser (Stephen) of Lititz, Pa and Connor Ives of Charlotte, NC; her great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Ryan Bastille and Michael and Corinne Kiley; her dear friend Maria Duval and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. She was predeceased by her brothers, Arthur Berry, Jr. and John William Berry and her sister, Patricia Crocker.
In lieu of flowers, Fran may be remembered with contributions to PARC, 28 E. Maple St, Plainville, CT 06062 or at www.parcdisabilitiesct.org
