Emma A. (Fusco) Dalfino

Emma A. (Fusco) Dalfino, 99, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Sheriden Woods, Bristol, where she resided for the past 7 years. 

Born on September 25, 1923, she was the last surviving of eight children to the late Salvatore and Bridgida (Pastore) Fusco of Cheshire.  She married Vito Dalfino in 1950, and settled in Bristol where they shared the next 68 years together until his passing in 2018.

Besides her parents and her husband, Emma was predeceased by her four brothers Daniel, Michael, Victor, and Umberto Fusco and her three sisters, Mary Perugini, Anna Perugini, and Lena Carbone.

Although she had no children of her own, she leaves several nieces and nephews with many cherished memories.  Everyone’s favorite Aunt, she was always there to lend a helping hand, bake mountains of delicious Italian cookies to be enjoyed at bridal showers and weddings, and family picnics were not complete until she arrived with her Lemon Lush for dessert!

Emma chose Sheriden Woods as her home, where she enjoyed gardening (planting tomatoes just last week!), reading, crossword puzzles, and the challenge of assembling 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles.  She quickly won the hearts of the nurses, aides, and employees who all treated her as a member of their own family.  It is with great appreciation we acknowledge their excellent care and dedication.  We as a family could think of no better place for her to call home.

Family and friends may gather in celebration of Emma’s life on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave, Bristol.  Committal will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.  For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
