Emile "Whitey" Pelletier, 79 of Plainville, beloved husband of Rinette (Albert) Pelletier, left this earthly life unexpectedly on Monday July 7, 2025. A selfless family man and friend to many, Whitey lived a life full of passion, laughter, and love.
Born on October 9, 1945, in St. Agatha, Maine, he was one of five children to the late Paul and Aline (Michaud) Pelletier. He and Rinette shared 59 years of love and adventure, especially enjoying their time spent in Alaska while he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Whitey continued to show his patriotism every day.
A true craftsman, he was known for his incredible skills as a mechanic and his dedication to restoring and collecting model cars. Every garage was a treasure of vintage vehicles, where he not only worked on his own projects but also generously lent a helping hand to friends and neighbors with their car troubles. He didn’t just fix engines; he fixed problems — and always with a smile. Beyond the mechanics, Whitey had a creative spark that showed in his beautiful woodworking projects. He always stayed busy, tinkering, building, or fixing, or taking the rare idle moment to work on a puzzle. But more than anything, being surrounded by his family and friends brought him true joy. The life of the party, that’s when he shined the brightest and his annual Fourth of July bashes became legendary, drawing family and friends together in celebration, laughter, and great food. Known for his big heart and even bigger personality, his kindness knew no bounds, and he made it his mission to ensure that everyone around him felt special and appreciated, including the backyard animals that he hand fed with love. He lived his life, full of energy, enthusiasm, and charisma with a gift for turning strangers into friends and friends into family, and will be missed by the many people that were blessed to have crossed paths with him.
In addition to his wife Rinette, he leaves his son, James Pelletier and his wife Meredith and their children, Bethany and Alex; his daughter Julie and her husband Robert Pelletier and their children, Kayla and Robby; his sisters, Solange Sirois and her husband Philip and Theresa Dufour and her husband Joseph; many nieces, nephews, and countless friends. He was predeceased by his Sister Pauline Levesque and his brother Clifford Pelletier.
