Elaine (Stawski) Rich

Elaine Stawski Rich passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6th surrounded by her family.

She leaves behind three sons, Christopher Rich (Montse) from Harwinton, Scott Rich (Steph) from Wells, Maine, and Eric Rich (Nescid) from Wisconsin. She also had six grandchildren that she loved and adored, Matt, Krysten, Marc, Alan, Hannah and Connor.

Born in New Britain on April 28th, 1939, Elaine was the daughter of the late Frank and Jessie Stawski, also from New Britain. She leaves behind three siblings, Frank Stawski (Marilyn), Lois Jablonski (Ronald), and Stanley Stawski (Penny Farrington).

Elaine dedicated her life to education and spent many years as a teacher’s assistant in Southington Public Schools. When she wasn’t spending time with family and friends, she was either in the kitchen cooking trying out new recipes, or bird watching.

Friends and family can celebrate her life at a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St., Plainville, CT on November 26th at 10:00 am. There will be a gathering prior to mass from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to the charity of your choice.
