Eileen F. (Grady) Myska, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Sunday April 6, 2025. She is now reunited with her husband, Donald, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.
Born on July 31, 1941, daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Burns) Grady, Eileen was raised in New Britain alongside her large, close-knit Irish family as one of fourteen children. Throughout her life, she remained proudly connected to her heritage, often reminiscing about the trips she took to Ireland, where her roots ran deep.
An embodiment of hard work and determination, Eileen balanced her successful career as a bank branch manager with the joys and challenges of being a devoted working mother.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Eileen cherished the simple pleasures of life. She looked forward to her Wednesday night card games with her sisters and best friends, where laughter, camaraderie (and a little bickering!) filled the air. Eileen's heart swelled with pride in her role as Grannie; she fostered unique and loving bonds with each of her six grandchildren, creating cherished memories as she watched them grow into amazing adults. She will be missed dearly and remembered fondly for her love, generosity, and kindheartedness.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Maurer and her husband Frank of Wethersfield; her sons John Myska and his wife Laurie of Plainville and Steven Myska and his wife Margaret of Bristol; and her pride and joy, her six grandchildren Gabrielle (Zack), Daniel (Megan), Jeremy, Daniel, Kathryn (Zak) and Thomas. She also leaves her brother Richard Grady (Janice) and three sisters, Marie Klepacki, Patricia Weber, Jane Gorcyca (John), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Lynn Myska, and her siblings, Thomas, Edward, John, Donald, Elizabeth, William, Kathleen, James and Robert.
In lieu of flowers, Eileen may be remembered with contributions to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, meeting directly at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St, Plainville. She will be laid to rest privately at a later date. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home extends their gratitude to the Myska family for their trust.
