Edmund "June" Charette, Jr. Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and a final checkered flag, that we announced the passing of Edmund “June” Charette, Jr., 68 of Eagle Lake, Maine, who crossed the final finish line on May 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on April 3, 1958, in Fort Kent, June spent much of his life in Plainville before returning home to Eagle Lake where he spent his later years in the place he loved. June possessed an undeniable, lifelong need for speed. Whether he was turning laps on racetracks, building and tuning race cars in the garage, or watching the green flag drop on Sundays, racing was the heartbeat of his life. His Sunday’s strictly scheduled around the NASCAR cup series. Yet, for all his love of roaring engines, June had a gentle side that was entirely dedicated to animals. A devoted dog lover, he was rarely seen without a loyal canine companion by his side.
He was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for the people he loved. Known for his strong work ethic, he spent many years as a proud member of the Laborers Union and worked primarily for O&G Industries out of Torrington, CT. He took great pride in his work and was respected by those who worked alongside him.
June was predeceased by his beloved wife, Antoinette “Toni” Charette; his parents, Edmund, Sr. and Rena Charette; and his brother, Brian Charette.
He is survived by his children, Amy and Michael Charette, of New Britain, and his two grandchildren, Tavian and Jasmine Jones, whom he was so proud of. He is also survived by his siblings, Greta Cousins, Gary (and Lisa) Charette, Lisa (and Steve) Rowe, Lynn (and Scott) Calloway, Bruce Charette and Dan Bailey along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply. We take comfort in knowing that June is reunited with his beloved dog, Angel.
He will forever be remembered for his strength, his big heart, and the love he had for his family.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 5 to 7 PM at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville.
