Donna Louise (Piper) Hiltpold, 73, of Plainville and Bradenton, FL, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, following a brief battle with cancer that she fought with much strength and dignity.  She was the wife of David Hiltpold, with whom she shared 36 years of love and life adventures.

Born in Westfield, MA on October 26, 1947, she was one of five children to the late Kenneth and Miriam (Fritz) Piper.  Raised and educated in Westfield, Donna was a 1965 graduate of Westfield High School, and, after 15 years of hard work and determination, earned her B.A. in Psychology from C.C.S.U in 1987, while working full time for Connecticut General /CIGNA.  She retired from Stanley Works in 2012.  Free spirited and fearless, Donna was always eager for the next adventure, including worldwide travels, white water rafting, and skydiving with her grandchildren in honor of her 60th birthday.  In addition to traveling, she and Dave spent their days full of activities, including biking, hiking, cross country skiing, and volunteering for various organizations, before breaking for their daily 3:00 happy hour of wine and cheese.  She looked forward to frequent trips to New York for Broadway shows with her lifelong girlfriends, and spending time with her family, especially boating on Franklin Pierce Lake in New Hampshire.  Remembered for her infectious zest for life and cheeky charm, she will be greatly missed, leaving many cherished memories of love and laughter.

In addition to her husband, David, she leaves her daughter and son-in-law, June and Richard Petit; her daughter Jennifer and her partner, Cash; Grand-children Harrison and his wife Jocelyn, Alexandra, Gabriel, and Mkenzii; and her great-grandson, Otis; her sisters Elaine and Betty Jane; her brother, Kenneth; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.  She was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn.

Donna may be remembered with contributions to The Plainville Food Pantry, PO Box 233, Plainville, CT 06062
