Diane (Dagata) Kraut

Diane was born in New Britain on April 24, 1937 to the late Victor and Helen Dagata.  She graduated from Plainville High School and went on to graduate from nursing school New Britain General Hospital.  Diane was instrumental in the implementation of New Britain General’s cancer floor, C5, and served as its first nurse manager.  Diane served many years as a supporter, board member and president of the PARC-Family Centered Services for People with Disabilities in Plainville where she and her family lived for many years.   Diane was an avid Red Sox fan who almost never missed a game and also a big UCONN Basketball fan, always rooting for the Huskies!

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles R. Kraut of Berlin; her sons Charles Kraut, Jr. of Berlin, Michael and his wife Carlyle Kraut of Pahrump, NV, Kevin and his wife Jeanne Kraut of Farmington, her daughter Kathryn Kraut of Newington; her grandchildren, Jayme Kraut, Michael Kraut, Jr., Katelyn Kraut, Sean Kraut, Kyle Kraut, Olivia Ciaffaglione, and Robert Ciaffaglione; her great-grandchild Cooper Michael Kraut; her brothers Martin and his wife, Saidia Dagata of Chevy Chase, MD, and Jeffrey and his wife Jane Dagata of Plainville; her sister, Ellen and her husband David Jones of North Carolina; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her victor J. Dagata, Jr formerly of Calabash, NC.
