Delphino “Feno” Samperi, cherished husband, father and Poppy, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love and support of his devoted family on Friday, October 4, 2024. He was the husband of Lucille (Scalora) Samperi, with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage.
Born in New Britain on July 29, 1942, he was one of three children to the late Delphino and Angeline (Maulucci) Samperi. A self-made entrepreneur, and devoted car enthusiast, Feno was known for his expertise in auto body repair. He established Feno’s Auto Body and Sales in his hometown, where his clients quickly became friends. A member of the Good Old Boys Club, he had a lifelong passion for Thunderbirds, and was a member of the Connecticut Thunderbird Club, dedicating himself to restoring, buying and selling parts and antique cars.
Proud of his Italian heritage, Feno embodied the values of hard work, love for family, and appetite for good food, most especially the meals prepared by his beloved wife, Lucille. Together they hosted many holiday celebrations and family gatherings where Feno was the happiest. He cherished his time in Soundview, Miami Beach and Old Lyme throughout his entire life with friends and family. Feno was a "hustler" which led him to his ultimate dream of building a home for his family.
In addition to his wife, Feno is survived by his beloved family, his son, David Samperi and his partner Jen Day; his daughters, Lori Cianchetti and her husband, Jeff and Tammy Samperi; his adored grandchildren, Lorenzo, Isabella, Emilee and her husband, Jake, Nicholas, Matthew, and Cameron, along with his latest pride and joy, his great grandson Christopher. He also leaves his sisters, MaryAnn Goggin and her husband Bill and Debbie Rivard and her husband Marc; along with many nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends who offered endless support and brought him much joy throughout his illness.
We will miss you, and you will be forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, Feno’s generosity may be remembered with contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.
