It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David M. Letourneau, 39, of New Britain, formerly of Bristol, who left us unexpectedly on Saturday, December 20, 2025. David was a beloved son and brother, and his departure has left his family devastated.
Affectionately known to his family and friends as “Dave,” he was born on April 14, 1986 in New Britain, CT the oldest son to Norman and Karen (Itzo) Letourneau. Dave was raised and educated in Bristol and was a dedicated CNC machinist in the manufacturing field. Dave brought skill and precision to his work, demonstrating a strong commitment to his craft.
Dave was an avid fan of both the Alabama Crimson Tide football and the New England Patriots, passionately cheering for his teams through every victory and defeat. He enjoyed fishing, playing video games, and especially loved relaxing with Sadie the family dog. He would occasionally take a trip to the movie theater, with a specific love for the X-men movies. His love for simple joys often brought him to local fairs, where he especially enjoyed watching the monster trucks and the truck pulls.
Dave had a notorious reputation for being a thorn in one’s side at times, yet those who knew him understood that beneath that mischievous exterior was a heart full of gold, brimming with kindness and compassion. He had an undeniable passion for sneakers and hats, which became a defining aspect of his identity. His collection was not merely a hobby; it was an expression of who he was.
In addition to his parents, Norman and Karen Letourneau, of Bristol, Dave is survived by his sister, Jessica Letourneau, of Plainville, his grandfather, Norman Letourneau, of Southington, his grandmother, Christine Coderre, of Bristol, his aunts and uncles, Lisa and Bob Gaber, of Southington, Tina and Mark Pandolfo, of Rocky Hill, Gary Tetro, of Plainville, Debi and Dean Aldi, of Southington, Mark and Michelle Itzo, of Fort Worth, TX, Anthony and Heather Itzo, of Arcadia, FL, and Kerry and Derek Dunn, of Grand Junction, CO. He also leaves behind many cousins, extended family members and friends. Dave was predeceased by his grandmother, Barbara Letourneau, his grandfather, Phil Coderre, and his aunt, Debi Tetro.
