Clarence "Butchie" Brown, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away at his home in Oakdale on May 30, 2024, at the age of 81. Known for his hard work, dedication, and warm heart, Butchie was a lifelong resident of Plainville.
Born in Bristol on March 1, 1943, he was one of two children to the late Clarence and Elisa (Larese) Brown. Butchie graduated in 1961 and soon after married the love of his life, Ann Marie (Gonsalves) with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, raising their two beautiful daughters in their hometown. Butchie was the proud owner and operator of Brown's TBA, known as the "Tire Store at your Door," where he provided dedicated service for 25 years, building lasting friendships with his loyal customers. A die-hard New York Yankees fan, Butchie's home was adorned with memorabilia honoring his favorite team. His generosity and kind-hearted nature were evident in his willingness to always lend a helping hand to those in need, making him a beloved figure in the community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and remembered with a smile in the hearts of those he touched.
In addition to his wife Annie, he leaves his daughter, Jennifer Kozlowski; his grandson, Alec Kozlowksi; and many nieces and nephews. He is now reunited with his beloved daughter Amy, and his sister Barbara Crowe.
