Cheryl Marcantonio, 59, of Plainville passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 28, 2021. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of Fred Marcantonio, of Farmington and Sarasota, FL, and Lorina Marcantonio, of Vero Beach, FL, and N. Eastham, MA.
She was raised in Plainville and Southington, graduating from Southington High School class of 1980. She attended Rochester Dental Assistant school in Rochester, NY. Upon graduation, she resided in Southington where she raised her children, Robert Bergenty, of Southington and Lindsay Bergenty, of Plymouth Meeting, PA.
She was employed at a family-owned business, Sliders Grill & Bar, for many years before retiring in 2008. She pursued a love for antiques and collectables, in her free time attending flea markets, antique stores, and tag sales with her grandmother, Gladys Roy, of Plainville. Cheryl was an incredibly dedicated and selfless mother, always putting her children first. She was known for her quick wit and sarcasm that kept those around her in fits of laughter until the very end.
In addition to her parents, grandmother, and children, she leaves a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Lisa Marcantonio, and two nieces, Amanda and Olivia Marcantonio, all of Farmington, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and a long-time companion, Matt LaBarre.
In lieu of flowers, her kind and generous spirit and love for her 3 dogs can be honored with a donation to the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) at PhillyPAWS.org or PAWS Attn: Donor Services 100 N. 2nd Street Philadelphia, PA 19106.
Honoring her wishes, funeral services will be private. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St., Plainville extends their gratitude to the Marcantonio family for their trust.
