Charles F. Jones, 70 of Plainville, proud father and devoted brother, grandfather, uncle, nephew and friend, left this earthly world on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family that he loved so dearly.
Born on December 4, 1952, one of five children to the late Frederick and Nancy (Peters) Jones, Chic was raised and educated in Plainville, where he formed many lifelong connections. He devoted an astounding 48 years of his life to his career at Pratt & Whitney, exemplifying solid commitment and work ethic. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he had an infectious zest for life and a passion for many things. A steadfast fan of the Raiders, he cheered on his favorite team with unwavering enthusiasm, and proudly wore his favorite teams gear. Chic also had a remarkable talent for all things mechanical. He had a love for cars, riding motorcycles, NASCAR and local auto racing both performing and spectating, and created a vast assortment of Mustang collectibles over the years, showcasing his keen eye for beauty and craftsmanship. Music played a significant role in his life, particularly jazz. He delighted in turning up the volume and immersing himself in his favorite tunes, and enjoyed attending jazz festivals across the state. Chicky was a sports enthusiast, having played on the Southington Recreation softball team, making lifelong friendships with his teammates. Since childhood, Chic had a profound affinity for the beach with the ocean providing a sense of peace and tranquility that he treasured throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to have crossed paths with him.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter who was his pride and joy, Sarita Jones; his grandson Jacob Jones; his sisters and best friends, Cheryl Jones Landrie (William) and Christine Jones (Isaac); his aunt with whom he shared a sisterly bond, Gloria King; his aunt and uncle Sylvester and Carol Mason; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, John Jones and Frederick Jones, II.
