Carrie Ann Kratka Obituary

Carrie Ann Kratka, 52, of Bristol, peacefully gained her angel wings on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 with her family by her side. Though her journey in life ended much too soon, the love, kindness, and laughter she shared with so many will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Born in New Britain on July 21, 1973, she was one of two daughters of Roger Kratka of Plainville and the late Sylvia (Sulinski) Kratka, with whom she is now reunited. Raised and educated in Plainville, Carrie was a member of the Plainville High School Class of 1992 and maintained many lifelong friendships with those who grew up alongside her.

Carrie dedicated more than twenty years of her professional life to TRUMPF. Through her work, she developed lasting relationships with coworkers and clients around the world who quickly became friends. Her warm personality, easy smile, and genuine care for others made her beloved both professionally and personally.

Above all else, Carrie’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being the best mother to her son, Ethan. She never missed a game, a celebration, or an important milestone, always cheering him on with love and support. Their bond was special, and she treasured every moment they shared.

For nearly twenty years, Carrie shared a beautiful life with her partner and soulmate, Eddie Collazo. Together they created countless memories, enjoying cruises & vacations, quiet moments together, and their daily Dunkin’ runs, which became a cherished ritual. Eddie was truly the love of her life, and the two shared a bond rooted in friendship, laughter, and unconditional love.

Carrie had a gift for making people feel comfortable and valued. Caring and kindhearted, she made friends wherever she went and always put others before herself. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved cat, Oreo, who brought her endless joy and companionship.

In addition to her father, Roger, Carrie leaves behind her heartbroken but loving family: her cherished son, Ethan; her devoted partner, Eddie Collazo; and her sister and best friend, Michelle Samuel and her husband, Frank. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Meghan Curtis (Dillon Willis), Keegan Curtis, and Devin Curtis (Amanda Rusczyk); her adored great-nephew and great-niece, Blake and Hadley Curtis; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and extended family members who will miss her deeply.

Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, Carrie’s memory will live on through the love she gave, the friendships she treasured, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generous spirit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are being accepted to support Ethan's future education. Gifts in her memory may be made out to Michelle Samuel and mailed to 67 Daley St, Bristol, brought to the funeral home, or sent via VENMO @MichelleSamuel (last 4 of phone # 4929) to help provide for Ethan’s future and honor the deep love and devotion Carrie had for her son.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville.  Words of remembrance will be shared at 6 p.m.  For online expressions of sympathy, please visit http://www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
