Carol (Skrzypinski) Ouellette, beloved wife of James Ouellette, peacefully left this world on April 29, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born on October 12, 1950, Carol was one of four daughters to the late Michael and Marcella (Gunchick) Skrzypinski. Raised and educated in Illinois, Carol dedicated her career to serving as the Supervisor of Assessments for Kane County. Her passion for helping others extended beyond her professional life, as she was known for her tireless volunteer work, always willingly lending a hand whenever needed. Among many other clubs, committees, and organizations, Carol was deeply involved with the VFW Auxiliary in both Illinois and in Plainville, where she and Jimmy made their home over their 20 years together. With her trademark "Hi Honey" greeting, she effortlessly connected with friends and made her mark wherever she went. Her love for cooking and her commitment to service and community were cornerstones of her life, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity.
In addition to her husband Jimmy, she leaves her children, Carren Krueger Brown and her husband Keith, Niklas Krueger and his wife Cindy, Jason Krueger, and Scott Krueger and his wife Marie; all of Illinois. She was the foster mom to Steve Harvel, and leaves her beloved grandchildren, Helen Krueger and her husband Cameron Rodriquez, Norm, Irene, Maggie, Alexis, Levi, Destiny, and Kali Krueger; along with her step-children, Kevin Ouellette, his wife Kathleen and their children Kasey and Kaleigh, and Tracy Pasniewski and her daughter Alyssa. She also leaves her sisters, Linda Bonk, Janet Kotz, Shari Leal and her husband Juan; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her nephews Jeremy Bonk and Adam Kotz, her niece, Jennifer (Kotz) Pace and her brother-in-law Fred Kotz.
In lieu of flowers, Carol may be remembered with contributions to the American Cancer Society www.donate.cancer.org or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org
