Carol R. (Chambrello) Latko, 75, of Bristol, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday October 9, 2021. She was the wife of Robert Latko, with whom she recently celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Carol was the daughter of the late Carmen and Marguerite (Coy) Chambrello. She grew up in Plainville and graduated Plainville High School in 1964. Shortly after, Carol and Bob married, moved to Bristol and started their family. Carol worked as a Paraprofessional in the Bristol School system for 25 years. A social butterfly, Carol made friends and engaged in conversation with everyone she came into contact with both locally and at her home away from home in Lake George where she shared trips with her family for more than 40 years. An avid bowler and baseball mom in her younger years, Carol cheered on the Red Sox alongside her husband and children. Remembered for her outgoing and kind personality, and infectious love for people and cats, she will be missed immensely by her family and all who had the pleasure of sharing a chat with her.
In addition to her husband Robert, she leaves her children, Lisa Ingvertsen and John Callahan, Robert, Jr. and Lisa Latko, and Richard Latko and Dori Posadas; her six grandchildren Matt, Jordan, Alyssa, Hayleigh, Brooke and Eric; and her cat, Aby all of whom she adored. Carol was predeceased by her brother, Carmen Chambrello and most recently her cat, Toby. She leaves many loving family members and friends.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville. Committal will follow at Peacedale Cemetery Bristol. Family and friends may gather on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
