Barbara A. (Banach) Graff, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully left this earthly life surrounded by her family, on Monday March 24, 2025.
Born on December 12, 1955, in New Britain, she was one of three children to the late Stanley and Estelle (Vaillancourt) Banach. Raised and educated in Plainville, she settled in her hometown with her husband of nearly 50 years, Alan Graff. Together, they raised three wonderful boys, creating a family filled with love and laughter. In her later years, Barbara joyfully embraced her role as "Nana", a title she wore with pride. Following the years spent nurturing her family, Barbara re-entered the workforce, dedicating over 20 years to The Hartford, where her kindness and commitment left a lasting impact. Known for her generous spirit, she was a selfless volunteer at the Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center, where her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many.
A gifted decorator and an avid gardener, Barbara transformed her home into a haven, filled with beauty inside and out, where she found joy in entertaining family and friends. She brought her artistic talents to the Orchard Valley Garden Club, where she contributed to the beautification of downtown Southington and local trails, leaving a lasting legacy of vibrant blooms for the community to enjoy. Barbara will be remembered for her strength, particularly in her fight against her illness. Her spirit, kindness, and ability to create joy around her will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In addition to her husband Alan, she leaves her sons, Michael R. Graff, Matthew T. Graff, and Alexander J. Graff; her son-in-law Steven Brown; her pride and joy, her grandsons, Lincoln J. and Weston J. Graff; her brother Robert Banach and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Banach.
