Obituary

Anthony J. Dlugoszewski, 94, of Maryville, TN, formerly of Plainville, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023 in Maryville, TN. He was the loving and devoted husband of Barbara (LeBrun) Dlugoszewski for seventy years.

Anthony was born on June 13, 1929 in Nanticoke, PA son of the late Victor and Constance (Pepel) Dlugoszewski. A proud American, Anthony served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and he was honorably discharged after years of dedication. He worked as a tool and die maker for Marlin Rockwell Co. in Plainville and was the head of maintenance at the newly constructed West Farms Mall in 1974. A master tinkerer and handy-man, Anthony designed and built his own home in Plainville, where his family shared many wonderful memories over the years. He was a self-taught locksmith, after eagerly reading and studying a book on the profession. Anthony was an avid reader and history buff and enjoyed learning new things. A true jack-of-all trades, he was able to fix, repair, and construct anything he set his mind to. Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather, Anthony will be tremendously missed by his family and leaves a legacy of love, devotion, and dedication.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, Anthony is survived by his five children, Elizabeth LeBrun and Thomas Tabolt of Louisville, TN; Regina Coleman of East Hartford, CT; Victor and Karol Dlugoszewski of Harvest, AL; Phyllis and Brian Roche of Plainville, CT; and Mark and Janet Dlugoszewski of Southington, CT. He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Julie, Jeffrey, Christopher, Sarah, Chad, and Scott and their spouses; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Felix Dlugoszewski and his four sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad Street, New Britain, CT. Committal services with full military honors accorded will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain.
