Ann (Roy) Reinwald, 84, of Plainville, passed away with her family by her side on Monday, May 23, 2022. She is now reunited with the love of her life, George, who predeceased her in 2015.
Born in Hartford on July 27, 1937, she was one of three children to the late Albert and Lillian (St. Cyr) Roy. Ann and George settled in Plainville where they shared 57 years of marriage, raised eight children and became devoted grandparents. Ann found great joy in taking each of their 11 grandchildren to experience the magic of Disney. Ann earned her nursing degree from Tunxis after raising her children, caring for others as a Registered Nurse at many area nursing homes until her retirement. She dedicated many years as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader teaching young adults many valuable life lessons and how to give back to their community. A musically inclined piano player, she was happiest when surrounded by her family, all who miss her kindness, quick wit and unparalleled love.
Ann is survived by her children, Thomas Reinwald, John (Laura) Reinwald, Barbara (Glenn) Mitera, Marie (Peter) Lennon, Theresa (Doug) Boains, and Diane (Michael) Hastings; her grandchildren, Racheal Reinwald, Joseph Reinwald, Kaitlyn, Adam Reinwald, Morgan Mitera (the late Brian Farley), Mitchell Mitera (Natalie), Thomas Moschini, Jr. (Shelby), Abigail Moschini (Maegan Musanti), and Jonathan, Christopher and Elizabeth Boains. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, her sister, Barbara Barrett; her brother-in-law, Rudy Reinwald; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sons, George Reinwald, III and Joseph Reinwald; and her brother, Peter Roy.
In lieu of flowers, Ann may be remembered with contributions to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
