Anita Marie (Pelletier) Ouellette, a faith-filled, passionate, and spirited woman, was called home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2023, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Romeo Ouellette.
Born on October 9, 1936, in Fort Kent, Maine, Anita was one of six children born to the late David and Meddie (Saucier) Pelletier. Raised and educated in Fort Kent, Anita was a proud daughter of Maine; a kind and giving soul who cared for her siblings as children, then later as elderly adults and carried the values of hard work, determination, and resilience throughout her life. After completing her education, Anita embarked on a career in administrative work and bookkeeping for local manufacturing companies, making her home in Plainville alongside her late husband, Romeo.
Anita's faith was the cornerstone of her life. For over 25 years, she served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Dominic Church, where she shared her immeasurable love for Jesus with her fellow parishioners. Her devotion to her faith led her to become a member of Calvary Assembly of God, where she leaves behind many dear friends who will remember her for her unwavering faith.
In her later years, Anita retired back to her beloved hometown of Fort Kent, where she continued to make the church the center of her life. Beautiful inside and out, she was a shining example of what it means to live a life rooted in faith, love, and service to others and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Anita is survived by her loving son, William Ouellette, and his wife, Melanie with whom she made her home; her grandchildren, Jamie Fournier, Michael Sundberg and Erik Sundberg, and her great-granddaughter, Averie Fournier. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Lorraine Tremblay, who will cherish the memories of their lifelong bond. Anita was predeceased by her son Eric Ouellette, her great-grandson, Axel Ouellette, her brother, Bidee Pelletier and her sisters, Martha Pelletier, Elsie Pierce and Rella Pelletier.
Family and friends may gather on Saturday July 1, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville.
