Anita Nyberg, 84 of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
Born on September 24, 1941 and raised in Plainville, Anita was one of three daughters to the late Bertil and Edith (Dickman) Nyberg. She was a graduate of Plainville High School and went on to enjoy a longstanding and dedicated career with Pratt & Whitney.
A devoted born-again Christian for over fifty years, Anita’s faith was the foundation of her life. She had an enduring love for God and a gift for music, sharing her voice for many years as a talented singer and active member of local choral societies. Anita had a kind and gentle nature, reflected in her love of animals—especially her beloved cats and dogs. In her later years, she found joy and peace in simple pleasures such as coloring, spending time with friends and family, and dining out at her favorite spots. Known for her sweet tooth, her striking blue eyes, and her bright smile, Anita brought warmth and light and will remembered with love and gratitude by all who were blessed to share in her life.
She is survived by her sisters, Linnea Neurath with whom she made her home and Ann Marie Nyberg; along with her niece and nephew, Debra and David Kitchen.
Those wishing to honor Anita’s memory may do so through a donation to a local animal shelter or choral society of their choice.
Honoring her wishes, her life will be celebrated with private funeral services. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com.
