Americo Joseph Cavallo, Jr., 81, of New Britain, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 5, 2021.
Born in New Britain on February 1, 1940, he was the son of the late Americo and Teresa (Dorio) Cavallo, Sr. A graduate of New Britain High School where he excelled at football, one of Americo’s proudest accomplishments was being recruited to the University of Alabama where he played under the great “Bear” Bryant. He became an entrepreneur upon returning home, owning and operating American Amusements. For many years, he was a friendly and familiar face at local establishments in Bristol and surrounding towns, and made countless friends and business associates. A man of many talents, he enjoyed building, renovating and tinkering on just about anything, though he was happiest when hosting, being surrounded by his family and friends, cooking one of his specialties and serving his homemade wine and spirits. He lived his life “his way” and will be greatly missed, leaving many treasured memories.
He is survived by his children Michael Cavallo (Maria) of Plainville, Michelle Cavallo of Delray Beach, FL., Ricky Cavallo (Kristen) of Farmington and Tammy Connelly of Plainville; his grandchildren, Christopher Lonardo, Ashley Cavallo, Meghan Boyajian, Juliana Cavallo, Jenna Cavallo, Michael Cavallo, Jr. and Lucy Cavallo; his great-grandchildren Alanna and Christiana Lonardo, Bianca Bowles, Nicholas, Maddie and Vincent Cavallo, and Kyla and Ashton Wight; his brother, Anthony Cavallo (Teresa), his brother-in-law, John Ludko, II; and his nieces and nephews, Paula Mekkelson, John Ludko, III (Louise), Craig Ludko (Julie) Gina Cavallo, Anthony Cavallo, Jr. (Monique) and Amy Kowynia (Victor). He was predeceased by his sisters, Paula Ludko and Theresa Lussier.
