Alice Marie Vironique (Labbé) Roy

Alice Marie Vironique (Labbé) Roy, 86, of Plainville passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Hospital of Central CT New Britain General Campus. She was the devoted and loving wife of Rene Roy for 61 years.

Alice was born on April 20, 1937 in Québec, Canada one of nine children to the late Joseph and Demerise (Comeau) Labbé. Alice grew up in Canada and worked as an elementary school teacher prior to moving to the United States where she worked for the State of Connecticut Revenue Division as a financial clerk, retiring in 2002 after 16 dedicated years of service. She loved to cook and sew and was famous for her lasagna, which was requested every holiday. She spent several years after retirement volunteering at the Plainville Senior Center, crocheting clothes for a variety of special needs. Alice and her family loved spending time at the Connecticut shore and could often be found hunting for sea glass on sunny summer days. Family was the center of her world and she delighted in spending time with those she loved most. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville for many years. A classy, lovely lady with a heart of gold, Alice will be missed deeply as her family cherishes the memories they have shared together over the years.

In addition to her husband, Rene Roy, Alice is survived by her daughter, Denise Kaye and her husband, Bruce, her son, Alain Roy and his husband, Mike Zimmer, her grandchildren, Brian Kaye and his wife, Victoria and Kevin Kaye and his wife, Allyson, and her four beautiful great-grandchildren who she adored, Murphy, Charlotte, Samuel and Xander Kaye.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad Street, Plainville. Committal will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
