Lorraine (Litke) Woerz

Lorraine (Litke) Woerz, 103, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2019. 

Born on April 4, 1916 to the late Gustav and Angela (Sirko) Litke, Lorraine is now reunited with her beloved husband of 70 years, Arthur, who predeceased her in 2009. 

Lorraine was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served as the organist for over 45 years.  She was involved in the Little League Auxiliary, was a Girl Scout Leader, and Treasurer of the Ladies Guild at Grace for many years. 

Lorraine leaves her children Susan (Ronald) Stockman of Oxford, Gail (Gary) Ferreira and James (Susie) Woerz all of Plainville, her 5 grandchildren Scott (Casey) Stockman, of Tiverton, RI, Staci (Joseph) Monzillo, and Steven Ripley of Plainville, Sarah (Nicholas) Brzozowy of Farmington and Justin Woerz of Plainville along with her 7 great-grandchildren Amber and  Emily Monzillo, James and Madison Brzozowy, Sophia Ripley and Siena and Cora Stockman, along with a niece and nephew.  Besides her parents and husband, Lorraine was predeceased by her twin sister, Dorothy. 

Our family wishes to thank the nurses and aides at Touchpoints of Farmington who were so kind to Mom over the last three years.  Our thanks also to the staff of Seasons Hospice who comforted her in the final weeks.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or the Plainville Food Pantry. 

Funeral services in celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 222 Farmington Avenue, Plainville. Calling hours will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church.  Private burial will follow at West Cemetery.
